Beka Sikharulidze’s film ‘From Life to Life’ premieres in Kutaisi

In Kutaisi, the premiere of the film “From Life to Life” by director and actor Beka Sikharulidze was held at the Sakartvelo cinema.

Guests of honor invited to the show walked the red carpet. The organizer of the screening, Miranda Khetsuriani, presented the director with a special award – a symbol of infinity, which was specially made by sculptor Irakli Tsuladze for this day.

The film “From Life to Life” has won 12 awards and won 8 nominations. The action in the film takes place in Georgia in the 90s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The doctor fights selflessly to save people’s lives.

“The film takes place in Georgia in the 90s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union. As you know, these were quite difficult years for our country, and they affected almost all areas, including medicine. The main character of the film, Luka, is a doctor who is an extremely honest and dedicated surgeon. He struggles to survive in a country plagued by corruption and injustice while trying to maintain a balance between family and professional obligations.

In the film, many human and life topics are conveyed with small nuances: professionalism, family values, love and mutual respect… Also, the relationship between Georgians and Georgian Jews is emphasized, a particularly subtle attitude that has always characterized the centuries-old relationship between these two nations in our country.

The neighbors of the main character, Luka, are a family of Georgian Jews, who are incredibly supportive and caring to him, because they know what difficulties this person constantly faces due to his nature. It is interesting to see their attitude towards Luka’s family when doing good, how cautiously and fearfully they do it, so as not to hurt his self-respect. Their true friendship is expressed in deeds and less in words!

It is especially important for us to show our film in this beautiful and historical city of Georgia, in the heart of our country – the cornerstone of culture and heritage of Georgian history. Many thanks to the people of Kutaisi for such warmth and support. God bless you”, says Beka Sikharulidze.

“My beloved people of Imereti and Kutaisi in particular, this place is a hub of poetry for me, from Akaki Tsereteli to the world genius to Galaktion Tabidze. I am grateful that you met and appreciated Beka’s film, which won at 12 festivals, in such a special way”, said actor Givi Sikharulidze.

“The premiere of Mr. Beka Sikharulidze’s film “From Life to Life” was held in the Sakartvelo cinema in the city of Kutaisi. Kutaisi welcomed the guests with dignity, as befits our city. As you know, he does not live in Georgia, he has been in America for years, but he came to Georgia specifically for the Kutaisi premiere. Preparations have been going on for 2 months to hold the Kutaisi premiere at the highest level. The film has won 12 awards and won 8 nominations. It was the most important day for Kutaisi spectators. I thank Mr. Beka for this opportunity”, said Miranda Khetsuriani.
