Police mix tear gas with water to clear streets, protesters suffering but refuse to back down

Protesters resolutely refuse to give up as police and special forces (speznaz) shoot water mixed with tear gas and pepper spray out of the April 9th street parliament entrance gate.

Many are struggling to breathe and are regrouping on Rustaveli Avenue. The youth in particular are well prepared, with masks, water and first aid kits to hand. The protesters are helping each other and remain united.

The determination to continue to fight the repression and “Russian” law through peaceful protest are strong.
