Minister of Internal Affairs Hosts Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration of Kingdom of Belgium

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, held a meeting with the State Secretary of the Kingdom of Belgium for Asylum and Migration, Nicole de Moor, who was on an official visit to Georgia with a delegation.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the visa-free travel of Georgian citizens in the European Union and Schengen area. The participants of the meeting emphasized the political and practical importance of free movement with Europe in the process of European integration of Georgia.

De Moor positively evaluated the successful activities of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, particularly the implementation of the exit control mechanism, which contributes to the prevention of dishonest use of visa-free traffic by Georgian citizens.

De Moor emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and relevant agencies of the European Union for the successful continuation of visa-free travel.
