Main Sources of Fire in Mestia Extinguished

The fire extinguishing works continue on the slope of Lekhziri mountain of Mestia municipality. Representatives of the Emergency Management Service participate in the process.

The rock is inaccessible to equipment and firefighters are moving on foot.

A helicopter was involved in the process since the morning. It is planned to use another helicopter in the next few hours.

The deputy state representative in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region says the fire broke out in the alpine zone and it is already localized, although smoke still remains. There is no danger to populated areas.
