“Georgia and the political processes have completely changed since my arrival here. Local elections, which were never important, have become so,” former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili said at his latest trial. He added the length of his time in prison “depends on society.”
Saakashvili also touched upon the recent appointment of a member of Giorgi Gakharia’s party as Chairman of Rustavi City Council.
“We took over Rustavi, one of the main cities, three days ago. In the near future, we will take over Batumi, as well as Zugdidi, which means that political processes have started in the country. This means that we have a situation where the fight makes sense. How long I will be in prison depends on you,” he said.
The trial of the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, related to the illegal crossing of the state border of Georgia, is underway in Tbilisi City Court.
