Georgian police have arrested two more people in connection with an assault on a Glovo courier in Tbilisi earlier this month, bringing the total number of people detained in the case to five.
The Interior Ministry said officers from the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department arrested two minors on charges of intentionally causing less serious bodily injury as a group.
Investigation established that the suspects verbally and physically assaulted a Glovo courier on Kazbegi Avenue in Tbilisi on August 7 before fleeing the scene.
Police detained three people in connection with the incident the following day. Two other suspects, who had been wanted by police, were arrested on August 13 following investigative and operational measures.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 118 of Georgia’s Criminal Code. If convicted, the suspects could face up to six years in prison.
