Culture Minister Tinatin Rukhadze has resigned from her position, citing health reasons. Rukhadze said she made the decision after consulting with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, adding that she needs to undergo an urgent course of treatment that would prevent her from properly carrying out her duties.

“Due to my health condition, I will need to undergo an emergency course of treatment, which is why I will not be able to properly fulfill my duties as Minister. Culture is a field that requires special care and attention,” Rukhadze said in a statement published by the Ministry of Culture.

She said she regrets being unable to devote the necessary attention to the work she “loves so much and considers most dear.”

Rukhadze thanked the prime minister, government members, and Ministry of Culture employees for their support and cooperation.

“I thank everyone who supported our initiatives. Special thanks to each employee of the Ministry of Culture for their tireless work and dedicated service,” she said.

Tinatin Rukhadze was appointed Minister of Culture in October 2024, replacing Thea Tsulukiani, who stepped down from the position after serving as minister since 2021.
