The Wounded Warrior Support Foundation (WWSF) has reported a strong start in 2026, with total donations reaching GEL 561,749 in the first months of the year, reflecting continued support from both corporate and individual contributors.
Established in 2018 by Silknet, the foundation focuses on providing comprehensive assistance to wounded servicemen and their families. Its programs span healthcare, education, professional re-skilling and social adaptation.
As of early 2026, the foundation has supported 32 wounded veterans as well as their spouses and minor children, with total expenditures reaching GEL 129,000. Funding has been directed toward surgeries, co-financing medical procedures, educational support for children, assistance for spouses, access to medicines and professional retraining.
WWSF also supports the national wounded warriors sports team under the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. In cooperation with the Invictus Games Foundation, the team recently received specialized equipment, including seated basketball chairs and archery gear.
Athletes have already begun training with the new equipment and are preparing for upcoming international competitions, including the Invictus Games 2027.
In addition to medical and rehabilitation support, the foundation is expanding its educational initiatives. In December 2025, WWSF signed a partnership agreement with the SABADO Leadership Academy, founded with the support of David Bezhuashvili.
The program enables children of wounded servicemen to attend leadership courses and workshops free of charge, promoting skills development through practical, experience-based learning. The initiative remains active in 2026.
The foundation publishes regular financial reports and activity updates on its official platform, emphasizing transparency and accountability in its operations.
With an annual contribution of GEL 300,000 from Silknet and ongoing public donations, WWSF continues to expand its reach and strengthen support systems for wounded veterans and their families in Georgia.
