The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met with the President of the European Council Charles Michel, they held a joint press conference, where Charles Michel said that the EU is the strongest partner for Georgia.

“The European Union is a strong partner for Georgia. We have common values, interests in the implementation of democracy and reforms. We are by your side. Under the current pandemic, the EU is assisting the country with € 400 million in economic reforms and expressing strong support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. I would like to emphasize once again that bilateral relations are very important, this strong partnership and cooperation within the Eastern Partnership is relevant. Mr. Prime Minister, I assure you that all these successes will be achieved together for the sake of democracy, strength, and prosperity, and I wish you this strength as the Friends of Europe. This trust is inevitably important. It’s as important as it ever was and will be,” said Michel.

The President of the European Council thanked the Prime Minister and regarded the opposition as reasonable, he noted, the decision of the opposition was an expression of their strength.
