A meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and members of business associations is underway. This is the first meeting since Garibashvili was appointed Prime Minister.
The depreciation of the Lari, deteriorating macroeconomic indicators, the trend of economic downturn, the lack of foreign investment, are the challenges that businesses face.
“This is the first meeting with the new Prime Minister. For our part, we will be mainly macroeconomists and will focus on macroeconomic issues. The format will then be expanded. Our association represents all sectors of the economy in the country. In addition, other companies will be involved in this process.
We all know that we are facing a severe economic crisis, so there are many challenges. We want to look at these problems together. We always raise issues very professionally, academically, and objectively, and today will be the same. We will try to cover all the acute problematic issues. Today we will focus only on macroeconomic issues, and then it will be broken down according to the topic,” President of the Business Association, Soso Pkhakadze said.
