As of August 13, a total of 741,353 vaccinations had been administered, reports the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.
The agency says 225,053 people are fully vaccinated, while a record number of 25,432 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
Georgia reported 5359 coronavirus cases, 2726 recoveries and 42 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.
Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 2187 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 813 cases, and the Imereti region with 698 cases.
A total of 50 937 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country.
The daily test-positivity rate now stands at 10.52 %, while it was 9.90 % in the past 14 days.
Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze reported this is the COVID-19 peak in Georgia. Health officials and authorities urge the population to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves and other people’s health.
Due to the complicated epidemiological situation, new restrictions will be imposed in the country from August 14 to September 4.
