The Rioni Valley Guardians have expressed their readiness to participate in the mediation process involving the EU.

One of the organizers of the protest, Varlam Goletiani, noted the European Union has raised the issues that they themselves raised at the beginning. They are participating because these conditions are completely acceptable to them, that is to say, that the police should wothdraw, the repressions must stop, the works must stop, and then negotiations can begin.

“In any case, we, the Georgian people, will stop the injustice that is happening. Let’s see what will happen on Saturday. We are confident in this part of the process, which is related to the fulfillment of the conditions set by the EU. If these conditions are not fulfilled, we will block all possible movements of the company here and everywhere,” Varlam Goletiani said.

However, as Goletiani points out, they do not believe that the government will meet the conditions, because such demands were rejected.
