Today, on May 31, Georgia celebrates the professional day of the police. In connection with the occasion, a solemn event is taking place in front of the administrative building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili congratulated the police on their professional day via Facebook noting the role of the police as a democratic institution in a European country is very important
“Today, from Brussels, from the European Parliament, I congratulate the Georgian police on their professional day! The role of the police as a democratic institution in a European country is very important. The country’s democracy and, therefore, its Europeanness is measured by the protection of human rights and the safety of its citizens. I thank our police officers for their service and dedication to the country!” wrote Zurabishvili.
