The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, in an interview with the news agency Bloomberg, answered the question as to whether she intends to pardon the ex-president, Mikheil Saakashvili. Zurabishvili implied that she does not think that an individual case will determine Georgia’s European future.
Zurabishvili also spoke about the granting of candidate status to Georgia, noting “You should give us candidate status. We are not perfect, I know that there are issues that we are not fulfilling, but I think, in spite of everything, we need to move forward,” said the President.
