Georgia’s ex-president Salome Zurabishvili congratulated Moldova on its recent achievement, calling it not only a victory for the Moldovan people and President Maia Sandu, but also for Europe, democracy, and Georgia.
Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum panel “The Next Chapter of EU Enlargement,” Zurabishvili emphasized that Moldova’s progress carries broader significance.
“This is a signal of hope and a reminder to remain steadfast in our struggle to return to the European path that we, together with Ukraine and Moldova, began,” she stated. “It is no coincidence that Russia’s aggression, in various forms, targets these three countries—the three associated partners.”
Moldova’s parliamentary elections have delivered a clear lead for the ruling party, with Maia Sandu’s Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) securing 50.14% of votes based on preliminary results, as reported by the Central Election Commission, with 99.78% of ballots counted.
