“We are defending our state alone. The most powerful forces of the world are watching from afar. Have yesterday’s sanctions convinced Russia? We hear in our sky and hear on our land that this is not enough,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He emphasized that the fate of Ukrainians depends only on them. “We are on our own land, the truth is behind us. It will not work to destroy our character. Caliber missiles are helpless against our fight for freedom,” the President said.
Zelensky also addressed the citizens of Russia in his speech, noting: “Dear citizens of the Russian Federation, as I said, tonight they began to bomb residential areas of the hero city of Kiev. It reminds me of 1941. All citizens who go out to protest: we see you. This means that you hear us. This means that you are starting to believe in us. Fight for us, fight against the war.”
