The Writers’ House of Georgia hosts a weekly event, ‘New Names,’ every Friday, dedicated to introducing the work of emerging Georgian authors to a wider audience. The initiative, created in collaboration with the country’s literary newspaper, has the goal of promoting younger writers and engaging more individuals in contemporary Georgian literature.
Each evening features three authors of different genres, likely poets or prose writers, who recite selections of their work and discuss their style, influences, and other aspects of their creative life. After recitals, a moderator, typically a prominent figure in Georgian culture, starts a thorough conversation, with interactive dialogue enabling attendees to participate.
The Writers’ House announces authors for upcoming events, along with other necessary details, weekly, and the public is welcome to join.
