A working meeting of Georgia’s ambassadors to EU member states was held in Berlin.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, addressed the participants of the event. The Minister spoke about the steps taken by the country towards European integration.
As he noted, discussions with the ambassadors focused on the country’s action plan to be implemented by the end of the year, in order for Georgia to receive the EU candidate status. The minister drew attention to the importance of international partners’ support in this regard.
“The attitude of our partners is very positive, which gives us the hope, gives us the strength to do even more in this direction. I think that we are moving consistently and logically to the point where our partners make an appropriate decision regarding Georgia. We will actively continue to work.
The main issue we are talking about is improved coordination between us, and closer communication with the relevant people in the host countries who play an important role in ultimately shaping the position of their countries on granting the candidate status to Georgia,” the Minister added.
