The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, shared a comment regarding Georgia’s current political situation on X, with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security, Vice President of European Commission Kaja Kalas, and European Commissioner for EU enlargement Marta Kosi, releasing a joint statement.
“We regret the Georgian leadership’s shift away from the EU and its values. The EU stands with the people of Georgia and their choice for a European future. The door to the EU remains open. The return of Georgia on the EU path is in the hands of the Georgian leadership,” Von der Leyen wrote.
