Giorgi Chaladze has said Mikheil Saakashvili is being taken to the intensive care unit, but the ‘Vivamedi’ clinic, where the imprisoned ex-president is being treated, denies the report.
Chaladze provided the media with the information that Saakashvili was being prepared for intensive care on January 31.
“The health of the president is alarming, at the critical limit. President Saakashvili needs to be in the intensive care unit in order to receive life-saving treatment.
“At the moment, while we are talking, measures are being prepared to save the life of President Saakashvili”, he said.
General Director of ‘Vivamedi’ Nino Nadiradze denies the above reports.
“When we decide to take such a measure, we will definitely let you know. We never hid any information from anyone. If there is a need for him to be transferred to intensive care, we will immediately make an announcement. We will follow what his [Saakashvili’s] health and his personal interests require,” she said.
Giorgi Chaladze is actively involved in the ongoing processes regarding the transfer of Mikheil Saakashvili abroad. In connection with this issue, he also held meetings with members of Saakashvili’s family in Brussels.
