Viticulturists to Receive 3000 GEL for Each 1 Hectare

The National Wine Agency of Georgia announced viticulturists received 11 million GEL from the sale of grapes damaged as a result of the disaster.

Regarding the government’s decision, the viticulturists whose grapes have been completely destroyed by the hail will receive 3000 GEL for each 1-hectare area as a one-time compensation. Grapes damaged by hail viticulturists give 1 kg of Rkatsiteli for 0.80 GEL and 1 kg of Saperavi for 1 GEL.

In addition, the calculation of the losses of the beneficiaries of the state program of agricultural insurance affected by hail has already begun.

Heavy hail and wind damaged 4600 hectares of vineyards in the Kakheti region: Kvareli, Telavi, and Gurjaani municipalities this week.
