The members of the UNM and supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili are holding a rally called “Save the country’s European future” near the Ministry of Justice.
The main demand of the rally participants is for Rati Bregadze’s office to satisfy the conditions of the note signed by 27 countries and to transfer Mikheil Saakashvili abroad for treatment.
Banners with the inscription “Freedom to Misha!” are being displayed. The sound of trumpets and percussion instruments can be heard, by which the participants of the rally express their protest.
According to Giorgi Mumladze, one of the organizers of the rally and a member of the National Movement, Rati Bregadze will be held politically and legally responsible for taking part in the death of a prisoner through his inaction.
“Yesterday, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia handed over the note signed by 27 countries to Rati Bregadze, that is, to the Government of Georgia as a whole. It was said that Mikheil Saakashvili is in the worst condition and his health should be improved by taking him abroad for treatment. Now there is no other solution. The clinic VivaMedi itself confirmed that the condition of the third president is not improving in the clinic, but is getting worse by the day. We came to Rati Bregadze to tell him that in addition to political responsibility, he will also have to face legal responsibility and will definitely be punished for the fact that, by his inaction, he is participating in the destruction of the prisoner’s life,” Mumladze said.
