The trial of Nika Melia, the leader of the United National Movement, will be held today, April 13.
The hearing is scheduled for 11:00 in Tbilisi City Court.
Based on the decision of Judge Nino Chakhnashvili, Melia will be able to attend his trial.
At today’s trial, the court will review the measure of restraint imposed on the main opposition party leader.
Pre-trial detention was ordered for Melia on February 17. He stands accused of organizing group violence during anti-government protests in June 2019 (so-called ‘Gavrilov’s Night’). UNM leader denies the charges. He was arrested on February 23.
