The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on former Georgian Chief Prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze [Romanov], adding another country to the list of those targeting the former senior official of the ruling Georgian Dream party, who is already included on the “Magnitsky List.”
Businessman Levan Vasadze has also been sanctioned. Based on the official statement, the decision was made within the framework of sanctions imposed on Russia.
As a result, the financial assets of both Partskhaladze and Vasadze in the UK have been frozen, and they are banned from entering the country.
The UK listed the grounds for sanctioning Levan Vasadze as:
“Supporting or facilitating any policy or action that destabilizes Ukraine or poses a threat to its territorial integrity, sovereignty, or independence.”
As for Otar Partskhaladze, the UK cited:
“Receiving benefits from, or supporting, the Russian government through his role as director of Moscow Business Brokerage Company, which operates in sectors of strategic significance to the Russian government, specifically financial services and construction.”
