TSU students demand release of persons arrested during the eviction protest
Tbilisi State University students occupied the university office. Their main demand is to release the persons arrested by the Enforcement Bureau during the eviction protest, including TSU lecturer Kako Chikobava and Giorgi Khasaia. Also, to stop the evictions.

Saba Buliskeria, one of the members of the Student Movement of May, notes that their main demand is the public support of the rector, professor and administration of Tbilisi State University towards Kako Chikobava.

“Giorgi Khasaia and Kako Chikobava were sentenced to two months’ imprisonment yesterday. Kako Chikobava is an active lecturer at Tbilisi State University, and Giorgi Khasaia is a doctoral student at Ilia State University. May student movement and TSU students in general entered the chancellery as a sign of protest and occupied it. There was resistance from the security, but we still managed to take it. Our main demand is the public support of the rector, professor and administration of Tbilisi State University for Kako Chikobava’s immediate release, and otherwise, our demand is for the university to announce a strike until their employees are released. Otherwise, we will continue to be in the chancellery, we will not leave it, and the educational process will be interrupted”, said one of the participants of the May student movement, Saba Buliskeria.

The protest of TSU students was also joined by civil activists who moved from Zandukeli Street to Tbilisi State University.

Patrol police are mobilized near the university.
