Tsotne Ananidze, a member of the Georgian Dream party, has been elected Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara.
Based on the official information, Ananidze was unanimously elected by majority members through a secret ballot. He previously represented the Georgian Dream faction in the Adjara Supreme Council.
The position became vacant after Davit Gabaidze stepped down as chairman based on his own application.
