A delegation from the Trump administration visited Minsk and met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko who subsequently ordered the release of dozens of political prisoners, as disclosed by a post on Lukashenko’s official Telegram channel.
The delegation was led by Trump’s Special Representative, John Coale.
During the meeting, Lukashenko emphasized his willingness to engage in broad discussions, stating:”I am always ready to consider any issue and answer any question. However, I strongly urge that we focus on regional matters—not only the situation in Ukraine but also the ongoing war in the Middle East. I believe my perspective on global issues, especially developments in the Middle East, will be valuable to you, given your role in supporting our friends, and I am prepared to discuss these topics openly.”
