Musician Tinatin Rukhadze has been appointed as the new Minister of Culture and Sports. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, presented her to the mentioned post at a briefing held in the government administration.
“Since 1989, she was the deputy director of the Young Creatora Union of Georgia, the director of the chamber orchestra, Tbilisi Concertino. She was also the executive director of the TV festival “Mana”, later the general producer of “Tibisi TV”, and was also the head of the office of the Council of Producers of Satellite Radio Broadcasting and producer. She was also the deputy director of “Melodia Art” LLC, the general producer, as well as the general director of Vaso Abashidze Music and Drama Theater of Tbilisi, and the councilor of Tbilisi Municipality in matters of education and culture. From 2016 until today, she was the director of the National Palace of Pupils and Youth,” Kobakhidze noted.
Rukhadze will replace Thea Tsulukiani at this post.
The PM also introduced the first deputy minister, Shalva Gogoladze, who will lead the direction of sports.
For the record, Tea Tsulukiani is on the electoral list of Georgian Dream, which is why she resigned from the position of Minister of Culture on September 26. Tsulukiani held this post from March 2021.
