The trial of ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili and ex-head of the special state protection service Teimuraz Janashia, who are accused of embezzling a large amount of budget funds, is being held in the Tbilisi City Court.
Mikheil Saakashvili is attending the session remotely, as is the accused Teimuraz Janashia.
Today’s session will continue with the examination of the defense’s evidence. As lawyer Beka Basilaia stated before the proceedings, they have summoned Temur Mghebrishvili, the former head of the state protection special service, as a witness.
Basilaia claims that Mghebrishvili followed the Prime Minister’s orders and the expenses incurred by him are similar to the expenses incurred by Janashia.
