The government predicts 6% economic growth this year.
First Deputy Minister of Finance, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry, Giorgi Kakauridze, noted that in the first four months of this year, the economy grew at a much higher rate than expected.
“In April, 11.8% was recorded, therefore, the total economic growth is more than 8%, which allows us to review the planned indicators. We have updated this year’s forecast and instead of 5.2%, we expect economic growth to increase to 6% this year. Also, in the following years, the average rate will be within 5.2%”, Giorgi Kakauridze noted.
