Southwind Airlines has been banned by the European Union from flying in its airspace due to its connection with Russia.
Earlier, the Finnish Government conducted an investigation and concluded that Southwind, whose official name is Cortex Aviation and Tourism Trade, has most of its ownership control in Russia, not Turkey. Because of this, Finland canceled Southwind’s Antalya-Helsinki flight and banned the airline from using its airspace from March 25.
Three days later, from March 28, Brussels also banned Southwind from flying over the EU within the framework of the anti-Russian sanctions.
