According to the European Commissioner for Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, the cost of shipping goods from Asia to Europe increased by 400%, and in time by 10-15 days, due to cargo diversion as a result of the attacks in the Red Sea.
According to the International Maritime Organization, amid the attacks in the Red Sea, 36% fewer ships are able to move through the Suez Canal, and cargo has reduced by more than 60%. In addition, the cost of ship insurance has increased significantly, as have fuel costs.
