About 30 Georgian citizens are in Sudan, where a military conflict is currently taking place. The Georgian Government is working “intensively” with its partners to evacuate them.
Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, said the Georgian nationals stranded in Sudan had refrained from going out to avoid the clashes.
The Embassy of Georgia in Türkiye is in contact with the Georgian citizens in Sudan and also with their family members and is working in all directions. the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
In Sudan, the conflict between the army and the paramilitary group “Rapid Support Forces” (RSF) continues. According to doctors, as a result of the clashes, about 100 people died, and the number of injured has reached 1100.
Sudan’s military says it will not engage in dialogue with the RFS until the group is disbanded.
