The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia announces that, based on open sources, it has been informed about the capture of two Georgian citizens, G.G. and G.S., who were fighting in Ukraine, by the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
“The Georgian side will use all international mechanisms at its disposal, including the International Red Cross Organization and the Swiss Confederation, as a mediator between Georgia and the Russian Federation, to protect the rights of Georgian citizens guaranteed by the Constitution,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense and government media reports that the Russian armed forces took two Georgian citizens captive in Ukraine.
Yesterday, November 14, the Ministry of Defense of Russia released a video of two captured Georgians fighting on the side of Ukraine.
