Tbilisi City Hall announced that public transport in Tbilisi will operate on an extended schedule and be free of charge during the New Year and Orthodox Christmas holidays.
On New Year’s Eve, both the metro and city buses will run beyond their regular hours to accommodate increased passenger demand. The Tbilisi Metro will remain in operation until 3:00 a.m. on January 1, while buses will continue running until the same time instead of stopping at 11:00 p.m. on December 31.
In addition, the Rike–Narikala cable car will provide service from 10:00 p.m. on December 31 through 3:00 a.m. on January 1, allowing residents and visitors to travel between the city center and Narikala during the celebrations.
Extended and free public transport services are also planned for Orthodox Christmas. On the night of January 7, the metro will operate from midnight until 3:00 a.m., with passengers again able to travel at no cost.
