“It was a pre-election promise and we fulfilled it for many families. I’m glad that so many families have been made happy.” – Mayor Kaladze
This weekend, the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, met with 41 families living in Isani and Samgori districts who had had problems legalizing their homes for years, and handed over ownership certificates. The mentioned families were given living space for a symbolic price of one GEL.
Kaladze noted that the program for transferring the ownership of a property which was unlegalized for years will continue in the future.
“Today, 41 families were given housing at a symbolic price – one GEL. This is a very good program that we started. It was a pre-election promise and we fulfilled it for many families. I’m glad that so many families have been made happy. Everyone saw how much joy there was. I would like all the families who have been suffering a similar problem of legalization of housing to apply to the district administrations, where they will be thoroughly explained what documents are required to legalize the housing where they have lived for years. They will have maximum support and assistance,” he said.
About 1500 families have been provided with the legalization of residential spaces at this stage within the project. In addition, Tbilisi City Hall continues to review and approve applications.
