A major step forward in the development of technological education in Georgia was achieved at the end of 2025 with the establishment of the Technology Olympiads Hub, created through a partnership between TBC and the Business and Technology University (BTU). The hub consolidates the country’s existing Olympiad ecosystem into a unified, structured platform aimed at identifying and supporting the next generation of tech talent.
Technology Olympiads in Georgia date back to the 1990s. Despite the challenges of that period, Georgian students consistently demonstrated strong performance on the international stage. To date, the country has earned 11 gold, 21 silver, and 66 bronze medals. Many Olympiad participants have gone on to pursue careers at leading global universities and technology companies.
As a leading technology-driven company and a strong advocate for education in Georgia, TBC continues to create opportunities for young people. The launch of the Technology Olympiads Hub reflects this vision, positioning TBC as a key supporter of the next generation’s international success.
The hub brings together both national and international Olympiads, including the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI), the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI), and the Georgian National Olympiad in Informatics.
The creation of the hub builds on decades of experience and dedication from numerous professionals and enthusiasts. Among them is Giorgi Mandaria, who has spent over 30 years nurturing technological talent in Georgia.
“Even in times when opportunities in Georgia were virtually nonexistent, I believed that the country would make its mark on the international stage,” said Giorgi Mandaria, Head of the Technology Olympiads Hub.
With the establishment of the hub, the processes of organizing Olympiads, training national teams, and participating in international competitions have become more structured and accessible. The initiative also aims to promote technological education and raise public awareness of success stories in the field.
“Education is the force that shapes the future. That is why we create and support initiatives that provide real opportunities for the younger generation. The Technology Olympiads Hub is a platform that brings together experience, knowledge, and new opportunities, enabling even more success stories from Georgia to emerge in the global technology landscape,” said Mariam Tevzadze, Education Projects Lead at TBC.
Believing in one’s goals, interests, and potential is the first step toward success. Through TBC’s free educational programs—including TBC Tech School, TBC Campus, the IT Academy, the Technology Olympiads Hub, the AI Student Club, and other initiatives—young people can develop their first digital projects, discover their strengths, and shape their own path in the world of technology.
