TBC Concept continues to support initiatives that breathe new life into Georgia’s cultural heritage—ensuring its preservation while making it accessible, relevant, and widely appreciated by modern audiences.
Following the release of a vinyl record by pioneering Georgian female jazz musician Giuli Chokheli, as well as a vinyl edition and a dedicated book celebrating the creative works of legendary singer Nani Bregvadze, TBC Concept now introduces a unique vinyl collection featuring archival audio recordings of Inola Gurgulia—widely regarded as a lyrical genius of Georgian music.
The collection consists of seven vinyl records, bringing together 100 archival audio recordings compiled from various sources and organized into five thematic albums. A portion of these recordings is being made available to the public for the first time. At the heart of the collection are rare magnetic tape recordings preserved within the artist’s family archive, capturing Gurgulia performing her own songs. Despite minor technical imperfections, these recordings hold exceptional historical and cultural value.
The collection includes:
- Vinyl I – “Do You Remember?”: Early, intimate home recordings reflecting the initial stage of Gurgulia’s творчество.
- Vinyl II – “Hard to Repeat”: A diverse repertoire spanning film, theater, and urban folk genres.
- Vinyl III – “I Am Happy”: Primarily previously unreleased material, including a rare autobiographical recording narrated by Gurgulia herself.
- Vinyl IV – “I Will Come and Sing to You”: Features recordings discovered as recently as 2023.
- Vinyl V – “…In the Beginning There Was Song”: Later recordings that offer an emotional summation of the artist’s creative journey.
Inola Gurgulia (1929–1977) holds a distinctive place in the history of Georgian music. A singer, composer, and poet, her work continues to resonate with emotional depth and refined aesthetics. Her repertoire—encompassing both original compositions and adaptations influenced by international motifs—creates a unique synthesis between Georgian and global musical traditions.
This vinyl collection represents a significant cultural milestone. It not only offers listeners a renewed discovery of Inola Gurgulia’s creative works but also preserves one of the most treasured legacies of Georgian authorial song for future generations.
Starting April 28, TBC Concept customers can purchase the collection with a 15% discount at the TBC Concept collectible store located at 7 Marjanishvili Street. The collection will also be available at the “Retromania” store.
