Syrskyi: Russia preparing major offensives in Pokrovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions

“The situation on the front is currently very difficult, as the Russian Federation continues its offensive operations,” Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said in an interview with Ukrainian media.

“At present, the enemy is regrouping and focusing on two main directions. The first is the Pokrovsk sector, which remains decisive for the Russians. Now the enemy is transferring its units from Sumy to the Zaporizhzhia direction. In other words, this will be the second axis where the enemy plans to launch active offensive actions,” Syrskyi noted.

He claimed that as of today, low-intensity combat operations are continuing in the Zaporizhzhia sector, but the occupiers are attempting to deliver a strong strike there—something they had initially planned a year ago.

“Remember, it was the Kursk operation that disrupted their plans,” Syrskyi emphasized.
