The Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili met with the representatives of the Pension Agency to discuss the main directions, challenges, and issues related to risk management of the Pension Agency and the Investors Council.
The parties dwelt on the draft law submitted by the Ministry of Economy on the amendments to be implemented in the law of Georgia on Funded Pension.
As the attendees noted, the changes provided for in this draft law will enable the agency to manage and administer the accumulative pension scheme more efficiently and properly take care of the best interests of the beneficiaries.
The representatives of the Pension Agency suggested that together with the report of the Chairman of the Pension Agency, the Chairman of the Investors Council should submit the activity report to the parliament, as an accountable body, twice a year.
The Speaker remarked about the funded pension system’s successful overhaul and stated his desire to work with the agency.
The guests were acknowledged by Shalva Papuashvili for their involvement in the creation of the pension system.
