The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, stated that the citizens of Georgia share the policy of the Georgian Dream, which is confirmed by various polls and the last midterm elections.
“The main issue is one: We have a certain situation with Russia, including the fact that we have severed diplomatic relations. No country has severed diplomatic relations, and we are a country that does not have diplomatic relations with Russia, we are the country that before the start of Russia’s aggressive war in Ukraine, was the object of sanctions from Russia. We had a certain status quo with Russia, and we are not going to expose citizens to additional complications. Imposing any sanctions means escalation, including possible military conflict. We are not going to expose our citizens to this risk. Our citizens support and share this policy,” Papuashvili said.
