Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili held an online meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
According to the press service of the Parliament of Georgia, the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its tragic consequences were discussed at the meeting.
“Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Georgia for its assistance, as well as for the outstanding care and attention to the Ukrainians currently staying in Georgia.
“Shalva Papuashvili once again expressed Georgia’s strong support for Ukraine and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The parties agreed at the meeting that in order to avoid misunderstandings in the future, it is important to communicate with each other in advance and exchange information.
“The possibility of cooperation and sharing of experience between Georgia and Ukraine in the process of EU accession was also discussed at the meeting.
“The parties agreed upon the visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia to Ukraine in the coming days,” reads the statement released by the press service of the Parliament of Georgia.
