A screening of the documentary ‘Topuria – Matador’, featuring the first Georgian UFC champion Ilia Topuria, was held at Cavea Gallery, particularly for aspiring athletes. The event, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia, was led by Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Shalva Gogoladze, SMH Sports founder Lasha Machavariani, Topuria’s family, and prominent athletes such as Olympic boxing medalist Lasha Guruli and judo world champion Giorgi Sardalashvili.
The film follows Topuria’s journey, emphasizing his restlessness and dedication to becoming a world champion. He recently defeated Max Holloway at UFC 308, maintaining the undefeated MMA record with 16 wins.
Prior to the screening itself, Gogoladze, Machavariani, and Topuria’s mother, Inga Bendeliani-Topuria, gave a speech to the young athletes, encouraging them to dedicate themselves to their goals.
