Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chairman of the Human Rights Protection Committee of the Parliament, stated that, unfortunately, there are many opponents of the government who are eager to create a dramatic and hysterical background regarding Mikheil Saakashvili.
He noted that there are active calls to increase self-harm, adding that this is playing with fire, and is not conscientious or moral on their part.
“I don’t know which of the MEPs are making statements based on what, that torture takes place. I’m afraid that misinformation and biased conclusions may occur. It is a fact that there is no place for torture – this person is engaged in self-harm and he must understand the responsibility that follows such behavior,” said Sarjveladze on Saakashvili.
