The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, published a statement on his Facebook page noting he supports the statements made by President Salome Zurabishvili in recent days and her call to fight for freedom.
“In my opinion, all political groups should unite against the Russian coup and also hold immediate consultations with the president,” writes Saakashvili.
He notes that it is quite clear that, parallel to the defeat in Ukraine, after the defeat in Moldova, now Moscow is going to openly seize power in Tbilisi in the near future and will agree to all the terms of the intimidated proxies for this goal.
“Salome should use her position and let the whole world know that within this complete isolation of Georgia, its complete conquest and occupation is being prepared.
“Now is not the time to think about grievances at all, and we must use every opportunity to fight in this great war.
“The President says that there is no true peace without freedom and we are being enslaved by the fear of war. Therefore, resistance is the duty of every real Georgian, starting from the current and former presidents. We don’t have any people to lose in this fight,” wrote Saakashvili.
