The trial of the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, was postponed on December 14.
Saakashvili did not attend the process. At the court session, Judge Giorgi Arevadze read the letter received from the “Vivamed” clinic where it was noted the doctor did not consider it advisable to transport Saakashvili to the court due to his health.
Lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze explained that Saakashvili was unable to attend the session due to his health condition, and his involvement should have been carried out remotely. It was for this reason that the session has been postponed, in order to ensure the aforementioned technically, and also because the judge needed time to familiarize himself with the case materials.
At the same time as the court, representatives of opposition parties and Saakashvili’s supporters gathered at the Tbilisi City Court.
