A Russian tourist drowned in a river near Vardzia, a cave monastery site in southern Georgia.
Reportedly, the man entered the river by boat and could not get out. Rescuers were searching for him since yesterday.
Emergency Management Agency says the man’s body was found today.
“He was riding a kayak, hit a rock and lost consciousness, they say. Rescuers found him and pulled him out- he was already dead,” a local resident told journalists.
