Tbilisi City Hall has announced a major road rehabilitation project in Tbilisi’s Saburtalo district, with construction covering Aleksidze Street as well as sections of Berbuki and Tkvarcheli Streets.
The initiative, carried out by the Saburtalo District Administration, is valued at 2.8 million GEL and includes extensive upgrades to local infrastructure. A new drainage network will be built, damaged water pipes will be replaced and existing communication lines will be placed underground to improve reliability.
In addition to these works, the project also focuses on creating a more pedestrian and driver-friendly environment. Around 15,000 square meters of asphalt will be laid, sidewalks will be arranged and new parking spaces will be added. An outdoor lighting system will also be installed.
Accessibility is a primary component of the rehabilitation. Zebra crossings will be equipped with ramps for people with disabilities and tactile paths will be introduced to aid visually impaired pedestrians.
