The indefinite postponement of the Georgian-American Noble Partner exercises threatens Georgia’s defense capability, – said President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili.
“This harms our country. This could be the same damage as the Russian law on our European path. It is damaging to our strategic partnership with the United States, a threat to our defense capability, and to everything that our country has built to date,” Zurabishvili said.
She warned that there would be no peace in the country if it appeared isolated and without partners, and there would be no resources to strengthen the army.
The US Department of Defense last week announced the indefinite postponement of the Noble Partner exercise in Georgia scheduled for July 25-August 6 this year. The statement says that the decision was made after the US initiated a comprehensive review of US-Georgia bilateral relations.
