The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili responded to the explosion in Istanbul through Twitter and expressed her condolences to the Turkish people.
“I am horrified by the explosion in Istanbul. My condolences to the families of the victims and my deepest sympathies to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the people of Turkey,” Tweeted Zurabishvili.

The explosion took place in the center of Istanbul. Six people were killed and 53 others were wounded.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey, Suleyman Soylu, said that one person had been arrested.
As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia notes there was no notification to the General Consulate that any Georgian citizens had been injured in the explosion.
